Oirase Gorge

Oirase Gorge is a 30 minute drive from our vacation rental house.
You can enjoy hiking along the Oirase River, which flows from Lake Towada, on a 5 hour, 14 km course that offers varied terrain and several beautiful waterfalls.

Lake Towada

Lake Towada, known as the "mysterious lake," is located in the northern highlands and does not freeze even in winter. It is vast, with a circumference of about 46 km, and its deepest point is 327 m, making it the third deepest lake in Japan.
There are many activities to enjoy, including sightseeing tours, visits to observation decks, and driving on the surrounding roads.

Mount Hakkoda

Mt. Hakkoda, one of the 100 famous mountains of Japan, offers a variety of seasonal activities such as mountain climbing, sightseeing, bird watching, and backcountry skiing.

Deep in the mountains, you'll find Sukayu, a famous secluded hot spring that will help you relax and unwind after your journey.
